We're still alive (and kicking)...

...despite our lack of updates.

SO much has happened lately. Oh, where to start?

I guess the biggest news as of late is my new job as communications manager for the American Red Cross South Carolina Blood Services Region. I started two weeks ago and I'm very excited about the opportunity to work for such an incredible organization whose ultimate mission is to save lives.

I became a first time blood donor last week, and I have to admit, I have no idea what I was afraid of for so long. Donating blood is something I had wanted to do for years, especially since Grandma was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and had to receive transfusions. Unfortunately, I had a long-standing fear of needles and I allowed that fear to prevent me from doing something I really wanted to do. Thankfully, those days, and my fear of needles, are behind me. There's absolutely no reason to be scared.

In other exciting (well, as least entertaining) news the pups got very short haircuts last week. Luckily, they've never been the type of dogs to suffer from embarrassment after getting their hair trimmed. That's definitely a good thing considering their hair is only an inch in length all over their bodies. They're so cute though.

Trent is very busy at work these days and has been for the past month or so with a new Google beta testing software launching soon. He sounds so enthusiastic and energized every time he mentions it, and it's truly wonderful to see how much he enjoys that kind of work.

With my new job and Trent's late hours at the office, we've been working hard to juggle everything in our lives. We were hoping to take a trip to Mount Airy soon and we still haven't been to Tennessee this year. We did visit Granny last month which was a great weekend of rest and relaxation. We still have high hopes of traveling to see everyone (or have everyone visit us) once life slows down a bit. We know God is looking out for us and He has a plan much bigger than we can comprehend.

Although life is crazy busy these days, we love you all so much and hope to see you soon!

Love,
Jamie
